Collision repair in Tulsa
Everything the impact touched.
After an accident we take the damaged area apart, find all of the damage, repair or replace each part, refinish to your factory color and check the car over before it goes home. The estimate is free, and we deal with your insurer.
A collision does more than dent the panel you can see. The force travels: a hit to one corner can push back the bumper reinforcement, bend brackets, move the headlight mounts and, in a harder crash, shift the structure underneath. A good collision repair starts by finding all of it, because anything missed now shows up later as a gap that will not close, a light that will not aim straight or a pull in the steering.
Right after an accident
- Make sure everyone is safe, then take photos of both cars and the scene.
- Get the other driver's name, insurance and plate number, and the police report number if officers came out.
- Report the claim to your insurance company, or the other driver's, and write down the claim number.
- Call us. If the car is not safe to drive, call (918) 951‑1473 before you move it and we will talk it through.
You can start before you have every detail. Here is how a claim runs with us, step by step.
How we repair a collision
1. Find all of the damage
We take the damaged area apart and look behind it. Brackets, clips, absorbers and supports often break without showing on the outside. If something can only be judged once a part comes off, we tell you that up front instead of guessing.
2. Measure the structure
When the hit went deep enough, the body structure is measured against the manufacturer's published dimensions, pulled back in stages where it can be, and measured again until the numbers are right. More on frame and structural repair.
3. Repair or replace, part by part
Some parts repair well and some should be replaced. Your written estimate says which is which, and why. If a part can be repaired properly, we will not sell you a new one.
4. Body work and paint
Panels are straightened, filled and prepped, then painted in AkzoNobel automotive coatings mixed to your car's factory paint code. We spray a test card, check it against the car in daylight, and blend into the neighbouring panels so the repair does not stand out. More on our paint.
5. Reassembled and checked
Before we call you, the car gets a post-repair inspection: panel gaps and alignment, the doors, hood and trunk opening and closing as they should, lights and dash warning lights, and after structural work, final measurements and a test drive. Then we walk around the car with you at pickup.
Cameras and driver-assist sensors
Many newer cars carry parking sensors, cameras or radar in the bumpers and grille, and they only work when they are mounted where the manufacturer put them. When your car has them near the damage, they are part of the estimate from the start and part of the post-repair inspection.
Insurance claims
We accept all major insurers, deal with the adjuster directly and write the supplement when we find damage that was not on the first estimate. In Oklahoma you choose the repair shop, not the insurance company: tell the adjuster the car is going to Daviel's. We advocate for you and document the damage, but we cannot guarantee what an insurer will pay. How a claim runs, step by step.
How long it takes
It depends on the damage, and your written estimate includes the timeline we expect. What usually makes a collision repair take longer:
- Parts on order for your make and model
- Insurance approval, and supplements for damage found later
- Hidden damage found once the damaged parts come off
- Structural work, and the measuring it needs
If the timeline changes, we call you.
What it costs
We do not publish collision repair prices, because two cars that look alike in a photo can be very different jobs. The written estimate lists the parts, the labor and the paint line by line, and it is free.
With a claim, the insurer pays for the approved repair and you pay your deductible, if your policy has one. Without a claim, you pay us from the written estimate. If the total is more than you want to pay at once, ask about Snap Finance.
